「時空を超える輝き」
学生時代に出会ったクリーム色の大理石の彫刻が私の心を揺さぶり感動させたことを起点としています。その彫刻の生々しさや迫力によって、命のないものでありながらも現在に生きているかのような臨場感が私の心に衝撃を与えました。この経験を通じて、時代を超えて人々の心を動かす彫刻を創ることに決意しました。
次に、作品を次世代に残し続けられる素材として陶磁を見つけました。陶磁は何千年もの間残る耐久性を持ちながら、私が伝えたいメッセージを描くのにも適している素材でした。私が彫刻で表現したかったのは、「人生を歩む過程で生じた傷こそが美であり力強く輝く人の証である」という考えでした。
生々しさを追求するため、私は生きた人間に直接石膏を塗り、土を押し当てて作り上げる「押し型製法」を選びました。また、経年とともに表面に広がるヒビ割れが深みを増す「光沢貫入釉薬」を釉薬として選びました。
被写体の選び方においては、功績や容姿などの理由ではなく、私が身近で出会う人々をそのままの姿で作品に残したいと考えました。私は偉人や貴族の銅像を作る彫刻家ではなく、生物が持つ命や人間の困難に焦点を当てています。どんな人も、どんな生物も、常に死と隣り合わせで生きていることが宇宙の中で感動的なことだと信じています。
「今を生きている」という事実だけで、誰もが彫刻の対象となると私は考えています。私は身近な人々を、ヘレニズムの彫刻に象徴されたような老婆の彫刻のようなありのままの姿で作品に残したいと思っています。
「時空を超える輝き」は、私の彫刻作品が過去から未来へと伝えられる輝きを持つことを表現しています。
"Transcending Radiance Across Space and Time"
"Transcending Radiance Across Space and Time" originates from the profound impact I felt when encountering a cream-colored marble sculpture during my student days. The vividness and power of that sculpture created a sense of presence as if it were alive, leaving a lasting impression on my heart. Through this experience, I resolved to create sculptures that could move people's hearts across different eras.
Next, I discovered ceramics as a material that could endure and preserve the artwork for future generations. Ceramics not only possess durability that can last thousands of years but also proved to be suitable for conveying the message I wanted to express. The essence of my sculpture is the belief that the scars born from the journey of life are the evidence of beauty and strength that radiates brightly.
To pursue vividness, I chose the "press mold technique," directly applying plaster to a living person and molding it with clay. Additionally, I selected "translucent penetrating glaze," which develops deeper cracks on the surface as it ages, providing a sense of depth.
In selecting subjects, I avoided basing it on achievements or appearance, focusing instead on capturing the essence of people I encounter in my daily life. I am not a sculptor who creates statues of great individuals or nobility; rather, I emphasize the essence of life and the challenges faced by humanity. I believe that the fact that every person and every living being constantly lives in close proximity to death is what makes life in this universe so awe-inspiring.
I firmly believe that everyone can become a subject of sculpture simply by virtue of "living in the present." I aspire to preserve the people around me in their unadorned form, akin to the depiction of an elderly woman in Hellenistic sculpture.
"Transcending Radiance Across Space and Time" represents the luminosity of my sculpture that can be conveyed from the past to the future.

It suggests that the contrasting elements such as the sculpture's height, the lightweight and inorganic nature of the FRP material used in its structure, the organic bird feathers implanted on the surface, and the weighty ceramic sacred polyhedra adorning the surface, evoke different emotions and thoughts in the viewer's mind, conveying the beauty of contrasting and dynamic aspects.
"Spiral of Taiji - Contrasting Harmony" symbolically captures the structure and meaning of the sculpture, emphasizing the harmony of contrasting elements.
